Terms of Service

You must be 18 or older to hold a TutorUp account. Parents and guardians hold the account for their family; a student under 18 does not create one.

Tutors must be 18 or older, must be legally entitled to work as a private tutor in India, and are responsible for their own tax and regulatory obligations.

TutorUp is a place to find each other. Parents describe what they need; tutors publish a profile; the two connect directly and agree their own arrangement.

TutorUp is not a party to the tuition arrangement. We do not employ tutors, set their fees, direct their teaching, supervise classes, or guarantee results.

Anything agreed between a family and a tutor - schedule, fees, cancellation, where classes happen - is between them. We are not an agency and we do not act for either side.

Keep the information on your account accurate and your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Every tutor completes a verification call with us before their profile is visible to families. The call is there to confirm the person is real, that the profile is theirs, and that what it claims is broadly consistent with what they say.

Verification is a check, not a guarantee. It is not a background check, a criminal-records check, or an endorsement of anyone's teaching. Meet tutors yourself, ask for identification and references, and use your own judgement before letting anyone into your home or near your child.

We may withdraw verification, hide a profile, or close an account at any time - including where we are told something that makes us doubt what a profile says.

Whichever side you are on:

• Be truthful. Qualifications, experience, subjects, rates, availability and location should be your own and accurate.
• Be safe. Families should meet a tutor before classes begin and keep an adult present or nearby, particularly with younger children.
• Be decent. No harassment, discrimination, or contacting anyone who has asked you to stop.
• Stay on the right side of the law, including anything that applies to tutoring minors.

TutorUp is free to join. There are no lead fees and no commission on what a tutor earns.

Tuition fees are paid directly between the family and the tutor. TutorUp does not collect, hold, or process those payments, and cannot refund them or settle a dispute about them.

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to host it and show it to the people it is meant for - a profile to families searching nearby, a requirement to tutors in the area.

Reviews come only from parents who actually booked. Write them honestly and from your own experience. We may remove anything that is abusive, misleading, someone else's, or posted to game the ratings.

• Impersonate anyone, or create a profile for a person who has not agreed to it.
• Scrape, copy, or bulk-collect profiles or contact details.
• Use TutorUp to advertise anything other than your own tutoring.
• Interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or try to reach data that is not yours.
• Charge families for an introduction to a tutor you found here.

The TutorUp name, logo, design and software are ours. Using the service does not transfer any of that to you.

We may change, suspend, or withdraw features. Where a change materially affects you we will give reasonable notice.

TutorUp is provided as it is. We do not promise that you will find a tutor or a student, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that everything on it is accurate - much of it is written by other users.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

To the extent the law allows, TutorUp is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost earnings, lost opportunities, or anything arising out of the arrangement between a family and a tutor - including the conduct of either of them, on or off the platform.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for most users is nothing.

If someone brings a claim against us because of something you did on TutorUp - what you posted, how you behaved, or how you used the service - you agree to cover the costs we reasonably incur because of it.

You can close your account whenever you like by writing to [email protected].

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we believe someone is being put at risk. The sections that should outlive the account - content licence, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law - do.

We update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top always tells you when. If a change matters to you, we will make it visible in the app rather than relying on you to notice.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
